- 01Is Powered by EG a franchise?
- No. Powered by EG is a licensing program and operating network. You keep your shop entity, P&L, team, customer list, and local identity. You license the Powered by EG mark, standards, playbook, and support model.
- 02What does the license include?
- The license bundles Powered by EG brand rights, the operating playbook, Cyon Auto setup, EV Tuning wholesale account setup, the first Level 2 technician path, equipment standards, brand kit, co-branded launch marketing, 90-day launch support, 30/60/90 reviews, and quarterly account reviews with the EG flagship operator team.
- 03Do I have to rebrand my whole shop?
- No. Your shop name stays on the building. The Powered by EG lockup sits beside your local brand on approved signage, digital assets, and service-lane materials.
- 04Can I keep doing gas and diesel work?
- Yes. The model is built for dual-capability shops. Your existing work keeps paying the bills while you add one EV-ready bay, one trained tech path, and one clearer parts relationship.
- 05Do I get exclusive territory?
- Licensing is capacity-aware, not a blanket territory promise. During Phase 1, the team protects density so Powered by EG shops are not placed on top of one another. The real answer depends on your ZIP code and market.
- 06How much does it cost to get in?
- Most shops should plan around a $40K initial onboarding fee, a $3K monthly license fee, and an equipment and infrastructure range of roughly $47K to $143K depending on existing tools, lifts, diagnostics, and safety buildout. The final scope comes after the shop assessment.
- 07What if I already own EV tooling?
- That helps. The site assessment checks your current equipment against the Powered by EG standard and builds a gap list. You do not re-buy tools that already meet the requirement.
- 08How does training work?
- Licensee training runs through AutoUpskilled with practical rotations tied to real bay work. Level 1 is 40 to 60 hours across 43 competency items. Level 2 is 80 to 120 hours across 39 competency items, requires active Level 1 certification, and safety-critical items require perfect execution.
- 09How long does certification take?
- Most shops complete the first Level 2 path inside the 16-17 week onboarding window. Level 1 is typically 40 to 60 hours, and Level 2 is typically 80 to 120 hours after Level 1.
- 10How does parts access help the business case?
- Powered by EG licensees get wholesale access through the EV Tuning relationship. That improves quoting confidence, keeps more estimates from stalling, and gives the shop a clearer margin path on EV parts.
- 11What if EV adoption is slower in my market?
- Your existing service mix stays in place. Powered by EG is not asking you to bet the whole shop on one vehicle type. It gives you a controlled way to add capability as demand appears.
- 12What if I want to exit the program?
- The license has a defined termination and brand wind-down path. You remove Powered by EG marks, keep your local customer relationships, and keep the tooling you purchased.
- 13How are standards enforced?
- The program uses operator reviews, standards documents, and periodic audits around safety, service workflow, signage, and customer communication. The point is to protect the network and the shops doing the work correctly.
